We've been in Connell, living at my mother in laws since April. I've been looking everywhere for a house of our own. Last week the perfect house came up and I quickly took it so we could have it. Twelve other people wanted it as well, but I got it first! It's a rent to own kind of house and it was a perfect starter house for my little family.
I filled out the application and my mother in law helped us put down a down payment. She was just as excited as I was! Our application was approved, I signed my part of the contract on Thursday and got the keys! We went and walked around the house one more time before we moved our stuff in.
The house was just so perfect for us! Everything was completely renovated and updated. New paint, new floors, new carpet, everything in the bathrooms were completely new, butcher block counter tops, new light fixtures, brand new front door, they added a garage on the house, brand new under ground sprinkler system and a fan in the master bedroom. I was in love with everything in the house! The yard was also the perfect size for Bentley to run around and play in.
So Friday came and it was move in day! I was so excited, because we finally got to be in our own place. My mother in law and I already had a few things moved over and waited for Trevor to get home to help us move the big stuff. Trevor finally got home from Wenatchee, and we moved most of the big stuff over. We spent the first night in our new house! Bentley fell right asleep in his new room and Trevor and I passed out after a long day.
Saturday morning we work up, went over to my mother in laws for breakfast and to get some other things done. Well, I had to take Trevor over to the owners house so he could sign his part of the lease. We got there and I sat in the car with Bentley, because he fell asleep. Trevor didn't have any problem with the contract, he just wanted to add in the contract that we needed to get the house appraised for $135,000. In order for us to get financed for the house, we would need to get it appraised because it could be less or more than $135,000.
Well, she didn't have any problem with that, but wanted to make sure it was ok with her husband. Her husband came in from watering the crops and met Trevor and they were talking. Her husband is so set on the house being $135,000 and would not agree to let us get the house appraised so he gave us our checks back and we went straight to move our stuff out of the house. I was so upset, because it's the perfect house for us. There is no way we can buy the house if we don't get it appraised!
We moved all of our stuff out and moved back to my mother in laws. We were only there for one night! We were disappointed and upset that it didn't work out. We think the owner was being very unreasonable and a little stubborn. Oh well! We're praying something better comes along. We might even just build our own house! As much as we love being at my in laws place, we're just ready for a place of our own. Heavenly Father has a different plan for us, we just have to be patient.
Until next time,
Xoxo
