The Simpson Life

If you follow me on my social media accounts, specifically Instagram, than you may have noticed that I use the hashtag, #thesimpsonlife. Ever since Trevor and I have been married, I have always called our life together, the Simpson life.

So welcome to The Simpson Life! As you can see my blog got a HUGE makeover and I absolutely love it! All thanks to Rylee Blake Designs! She did such an amazing job on redoing my blog that I am recommending her to everyone and anyone. So if you have a blog and you want it redone, definitely check her out on Etsy! You won't be disappointed.

Since my blog got a makeover, I might as well update you guys on some exciting things that are happening for my little family!

This is Lower Monumental Dam, located on the Snake River, in Kahlotus WA. Trevor was officially offered a job to work there, and starts July 11th! We can't wait for this amazing opportunity and I know he will do great out there. Bentley and I are so proud of him. I also know his dad is proud of him as well, and is looking down at him and saying, "That's my boy."

Trevor's dad Jeff, worked at the dam for many years as one of the operators. It definitely brings back some good memories for Trevor and his mom.

Since we've been married, we have moved so many times, it's ridiculous. Trevor has always been away in a different city/state for work, and has worked crazy hours so we hardly get to see him. Now with this new job, that's all going to change and we can't wait! We finally get to settle down in Trevor's home town of Connell, WA. Bentley and I get Trevor home every night, we are just so excited! It'll be so nice to get our little family into a schedule and a routine.

Have you ever heard of Paul Mitchell hair school?! Well, I'm super excited to say that I'm starting cosmetology school at Paul Mitchell the school Richland in the fall! I am seriously so excited. I wouldn't have taken this big step without the help of Carly Foster.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Carly posted  on her blog about how she had this feeling that BYU-I just wasn't for her anymore, and after a ton of praying to the Lord and talking with her husband, she took a leap of faith and started cosmetology school down in Rexburg this past week! I'm so glad she posted that post and I read it, because it motivated me and pushed me in the right direction! I can't thank her enough!

So here's my quick story about choosing to pursue my dreams of cosmetology school! Ever since I was in the first grade, I've always wanted to be a school teacher. I wanted to go to college and study elementary education. Well, after I graduated high school, I moved down to Tucson, AZ and lived with my dad and started college down there. After only one semester it just wasn't for me. I have always had cosmetology on my mind, but never talked to anyone about it, because I was afraid of what they were going to say. After reading Carly's blog post, I was more motivated and determined than I've ever been before about going to school. I asked my mother in law what she thought about it, and she was super supportive and thinks it would be really good for me! I talked to Trevor about it and he said I could go tour the campus and do the interview.

This past Tuesday I went and did my tour and interview and I couldn't stop smiling. I had such a strong feeling that this is where I'm meant to be! It all just felt so right. September needs to come faster, because I can't wait to pursue my dreams and goals. I'm also so grateful for the support of my husband and mother in law! In the end, I will be able to help my little family and it just puts a huge smile on my face.

Bentley has been super grumpy the past week, must be going through a growth spurt or something, because I'm going insane! But even when he's grumpy, he always manages to put a smile on my face and his.

With the few new exciting things happening for our little family, I know Bentley will be such a champ through it all. Trevor and I love him so much and he is our whole world.

Until next time!

Xoxo,
Emi
