Paul Mitchell Future Professional

Since I start my second week of school tomorrow, I figured I'd tell you all about my first week of school at Paul Mitchell the school Richland.

I started school last Wednesday, September 21st and I'm doing the 3 day program! I'm at school from 9:00 am to 7:30 pm. It's definitely a new schedule for me, but it's going to be so worth it in the end. It's nice that I'm at school only 3 days a week, because the other 4 days I get off and I get to spend them at home with my baby boy.

This is my core class! There are 22 of us girls and we're all becoming friends and getting to know each other pretty well. Our teachers Diane and Jules are pretty awesome! The first 6 weeks of school, I'm in CORE class, each week we learn and do something new, than our final week we do our tests. After the first 6 weeks are done (hopefully I pass all of my test in CORE) I will be on the floor taking clients and still learning more in the classroom.

Week 1: Styling
Week 2: Color
Week 3: Cutting
Week 4: Spa week (skin and nails)
Week 5: Texture
Week 6: Tests

CORE is basically an introduction to the Paul Mitchell culture.

Our very first day of school we had our "kitmas" It was so much fun to open our kits and see everything that we got!

We got a rolling kit, with all of our supplies in it!

A tripod to hold our mannequin heads.

We got 4 mannequin heads, to help us practice on them.

In our bag, we got an iPad mini!

Different books and stuff also came in our bag.

Different types of brushes.

Different kinds of combs, a razor and clips.

A work book and different kinds of pamphlets.

Cutting sheers.

Clipper set.

Nail/skin care kit.

Spray bottle.

Straightener and curling iron.

Blowdryer.

Two different types of capes.

I have to bring everything to school every day!

The whole first week of school was all about styling! I learned different types of braids, wet styling and how to shampoo/condition other peoples hair. We even got to style each others hair. It was so much fun! I can't wait to see what else school has in store for me!

Until next time,

3 years

Look how far we've come in the past 3 years!

From matching on Tinder, to meeting in the 7-11 parking lot, to our many dates, to becoming an official couple, to getting engaged, to eloping down to the courthouse, to becoming husband and wife,  to moving back and forth between states, to having our amazing son Bentley, to creating memories and having many adventures along the way.

Trevor and I celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary this past Saturday (September 10th) We got a babysitter and headed out on our anniversary date night. We went to one of our favorite restaurants, Olive Garden for dinner. Our waiter even gave us free dessert, which was awesome! We couldn't decide what we were going to do after dinner, I wanted to go do some shopping and Trevor just wanted to go home, but we ended up at his best friends house and hung out with him for awhile, while watching the Utah Holy War, U of U vs BYU football game. Haha!

It's crazy to see how far Trevor and I have come in the past 3 years and in just 2 years, we will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Our marriage has definitely not been easy, but it's been so so worth it.

Here's to another year of marriage and creating more memories with my little family!

Until next time,

date night

I went on a lot of dates in high school, and after I moved out and was on my own, I still continued to make sure I went on dates. After Trevor and I met, we were literally inseperable and together all the time. We both had busy work schedules and we always made it a priority to go on a date, it didn't have to be all fancy, it could've been cheap or even free! Now that we've been married for 3 years (this upcoming Saturday, the 10th of September!) and we have Bentley, I still always make sure we go out and do something just the two of us! It's nice to get out and go act like we're brand new newlyweds again!

We also love getting together with our friends and going out on double/group dates! It makes date night even more fun. Brady and Haleigh are so fun to be with and we can't wait to get together with them again! Hopefully sooner than later.

Here are some ideas for date night!

- At home movie date night with popcorn and treats
- Camp out in your living room with a tent, tell stories, even "roast" smores over the stove
- Go on a walk around the town/city you live in
- At home karaoke night
- Run through the sprinklers or play in the hose
- Test drive your dream car
- Have an entire meal of CostCo samples
- Have a Walmart adventure
- Have a Jim vs Dwight prank contest (for the office fans)
- Go to the movies
- Go to your favorite restaurant
- Window shopping
- Local sports games
- Bowling
- Arcade
- Anything that you two can do to spend time together
*The dating divas is an awesome website that gives you a ton of ideas for date nights and marriage advice and other cool stuff, you can check out the website here: http://www.thedatingdivas.com

So if you're dating or married, always make it a priority to take your significant other on a date. It doesn't have to be all fancy, you can even do it at home, just spending time with them will be enough.

Until next time,
