Christmas, 2 Months & 2014

I hope you all had a great Christmas and enjoyed spending time with family and loved ones. Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year! Nothing better then the holidays with family, snow, lights, holiday baking, gift giving, Christmas tree decorating, all the decorations etc. But most of all it's a time to remember our Savior, Jesus Christ. Without him we wouldn't be here. He is the reason for the season! Lets not forget what CHRISTmas is all about.

This year was our first Christmas as a family! I know Bentley is only 2 months, but I had to have all of his presents wrapped. As Trevor unwrapped Bentley's presents for him, Bentley sat in my lap and just looked around and smiled. I know he had no clue what was going on, but it was still fun, well at least for me! Bentley is spoiled by everyone! He got a new blanket and books from his Grandma Simpson. A snug a pup bouncer chair from his Grandma Elzey. Toys from Grandpa Elzey. Then Trevor and I got him a playmat, a bath chair, some toys, a stuffed elephant and clothes.

Trevor and I really didn't know what to get each other for Christmas this year. So I bought him some t-shirts while I was in Utah, and ordered us some wifey and hubby shirts offline. He got a work coat and something in a box that I have no idea what it is from his mom, and I also let him get a gun. He claims it's for both of us, but lets be honest, it's really for him and it's his new toy! Trevor took me to the mall to go shopping, so I got some clothes from some of my favorite stores and some books from Barnes & Noble. My mother in law got me shampoo/conditioner, a hair brush, and a gift card to the place I get my hair done. My dad got us an office chair for our computer so we didn't have to sit on boxes anymore! Oh, Trevor also got us some nerf guns so we could have nerf wars whenever, but one of our guns got axed to pieces by my older brother in law, because Trevor wouldn't stop shooting him, so he has to buy me another one!

Bentley Jess is 2 months old already! We seriously can't believe how fast he is growing. I keep telling Trevor that I don't want him to grow up, I want him to be a baby forever! I love my little boy so much. He is one of the greatest blessings in my life.

•He now weighs 13 lbs and 7 ounces. •He is 24 inches long.
•He loves being held and cuddled.
•He loves to sleep, but keep mom and dad up all night.
•He loves his bouncer chair from Grandma Elzey.
•He loves to stand on mom and dads lap.
•He loves to smile, talk and look at the big world around him.

2014 has flown by so fast. I can't believe 2015 is already here. So many things have happened this year, good and bad. Trevor and I have definitely had our ups and downs this year, but this is a year we will not forget. From moving back and forth between states, new jobs, new cities, and a baby. I'm so excited to see what 2015 has in store for us. Another year has come and gone, but another year awaits. Bring on 2015!

A Week in Utah!

I kept begging Trevor to let us spend Christmas in Utah with my family, since we spent the big holidays with his last year. Our plan was that we were going to go, but things changed, so we sent Bentley and I down the week before to see my family and friends. So I got on a plane with him and he slept on all of our flights! I was a little nervous flying with him, because I didn't know if he was going to cry the whole time, but he did really good! I was really happy and I got a lot of compliments on how he is such a good baby.

We spent some time with all of his cousins, aunts and uncles, grandma/grandpa Elzey, and even his great grandparents! It was so nice being able to see them for a week since we didn't have enough time when we went down for Thanksgiving.

Bentley sure is spoiled! He was always being held by someone, and someone was always asking if they could play with him. I miss being close to my family, because I miss out on a lot of things and they don't get to see Bentley grow up. But that's what is so great about being able to visit! I'm already looking forward to our next visit! We were so excited to come home to Trevor, we really missed him!

Utah or bust!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! I know my family and I did! We made a 12 hour drive down to Utah to spend it with my family this year. Even though, we were only there for 2 days, it was worth the drive!

I loved showing off Bentley! And my sisters loved fighting over who got to hold him! Haha, they love being aunts. Bentley was being passed around from his aunts to his grandpa all Thanksgiving day. I never thought I'd get him back!

That night some of my siblings and dad were going to see a movie. Trevor and I kept debating on whether to find a babysitter for Bentley or just stay home with him. Well, I ended up going and Trevor watched him for a couple hours. It felt so good to get a little break, but I did miss my baby boy!

When I got back Trevor went out to a movie so he could get a little break. Well, at 2 in the morning I got a phone call from him asking if I wanted to go to iHop! Haha really random, but our little family went off to iHop at 2 in the morning. Our waitress was so nice and was having a very long shift, because of all the Black Thursday/Friday shopping and she did not have a break at all. Trevor and I wanted to do something nice for her, so we left her a $50 tip! We left and she came out the side door and thanked us a bunch of times and told us we made her night! It felt so good to see the huge smile on her face.

Friday morning my friend Aleigh Moore took our family pictures! It was so much fun and she did such an amazing job! I'm so glad she was able to capture my little family. Go check out her work on Facebook at Aleigh Joy Images! She seriously is amazing and we can't wait to see the rest of our pictures!

One of the things I miss about Utah are my nieces and nephews! My niece Kennedi loves taking pictures with me and whenever we get going, I can never get her to stop!

Friday was a full on busy day for us! Family pictures, shopping with my dad, running into one of my best friends Courtney, dinner at the training table with my siblings and dad, then we finished off the evening with temple square and the lights! It was the first time I've been back to temple square in two years! I have missed it. It was so beautiful and really packed! Plus, I love being able to spend time with my family.

A week before we were suppose to come down my sister Dominique called me and asked if Trevor and I wanted to go to lunch at the Olive Garden (my absolute favorite place!) before we head back up to Washington. Of course we said yes! Little did we know a surprise was coming our way! Usually when we plan to go out to eat or an activity our whole family comes. I asked my sisters, brothers and Dad if they were coming to lunch and they all said no or they already had plans. Weird, that usually never happens! At the last minute before we were heading to lunch my dad decided to join us because his plans weren't happening anymore. We got to the Olive Garden and the hostess was taking us to our table, we turned the corner and SURPRISE!!! My sisters, one of my brothers, and my mom were there waiting for us! Decorations, balloons, presents! A surprise post baby shower! It was awesome! After lunch we went to my mom's house so my younger siblings could see their newest nephew! It was fun and great to see my younger siblings!

On our way to Washington we stopped in a little town called Arco, Idaho and visited Trevor's aunt, uncle and grandma! It was nice to meet more of Trevor's family and for them to see Bentley. He sure is spoiled and everyone loves him! Our trip to Utah was so much fun and I couldn't have asked for a better time with the people I love!

Hopefully we will be seeing Utah again at Christmas!

Bentley Jess Simpson

I know I promised that my next blog post would be about our first house and there would be lots of pictures, but....... I think my baby boy is a lot better!

Tuesday the 28th, I was sleeping and woke up to go to the bathroom. Well, I went to the bathroom, but than all of a sudden I had water coming out! My water broke at 11:15 that night and Trevor was at work. I was thinking, "oh no! Bentley's coming early!" So, I called my doctor and she said to go straight to labor and delivery. Getting a hold of Trevor was the hard part. He doesn't get service up at the dam and I didn't know how to get a hold of him, so I called my mother in law. I let her know my water broke and she called the dam and had them give Trevor the message. Well, by the time Trevor got home to me it was 12:40. We quickly threw a bag together of stuff for us and headed to Spokane. I was feeling just fine, except for all the fluids still coming out.

We are two hours away from our hospital and the drive didn't seem that long. I wasn't hurting at all and not really feeling any contractions and Trevor was hungry, so we made a pit stop at McDonald's on the way to the hospital. We arrived at Labor & Delivery and they had a room waiting for us. My nurse Jen checked to see if it was my water that had broken and it was so we were getting all checked in and waiting to see what the next couple of days would bring us. They got me hooked up on an IV, because I was dehydrated and needed fluids in me. By the time we were settled in it was almost 4:00 am Wednesday morning.

Wednesday was a very long day. I slept most of the day. My doctor kept coming in to see how much dilated I was. I had to get some medicine to help make my contractions feel more and more intense. I was dilated at a 2 when I got to the hospital and was still at a 2 when I woke up. When I got the medicine to help my contractions, I went up to a 4, but stayed at a 4 for a good few hours. I wanted my epidural right away because I didn't want to wait to be in pain than get it. As the day went on I was dilating so slow, and I just slept for hours.

By 9:00 that night, I was finally at a 6. They kept upping my medicine and they were determined to have my baby boy out before midnight. My contractions kept getting worse and worse and I was wondering why I could feel them when I had my epidural. My doctor checked my cervix to see if I was finally ready to push, and I was and the time was 11:40. I pushed for about 20 minutes and after my last push, my baby boy was finally here.

Bentley Jess Simpson
Born on October 30, 2014. 12:01 A.M.
7 lbs, 1 oz and 19 inches long.

24 hours of labor was definitely worth it.

He came 3 weeks early, but I am so glad. He's the most perfect baby and he's already so spoiled. We are already so in love with him and he's daddy's little buddy and mama's little boy.

Everyone says he looks like me, but I just can't see it! He is literally a blessing from Heavenly Father. I'm so glad to be a mom and I'm glad Bentley is apart of our family.

He's perfect in every way and we are so glad to finally be parents!
